About Scouting

Scouting has been around as an organisation since 1907.

Starting in England, groups of boys and girls would use a collection of articles written by Lord Robert Baden Powell titled “Scouting for Boys” to learn about woods craft, living outdoors and self reliance.

There are 4 sections in Scouts for youth aged 6 to 17 years old and 1st Narellan group has all 4 sections. These are:

Joey Scouts for 6 and 7 year olds

Cub Scouts for 8 to 10 year olds

Scouts for 11 to 14 year olds and

Venturer Scouts for 15 to 17 year olds.

The Adventure doesn’t stop at 18 – you can become a leader and/or a Rover Scout at 18.
